Remember when...
Remember back when childhood made you curious about the world around you? There was a time you felt free to just be…no pretense…no fears.
And then…life circumstances changed that.
Now you struggle to get back to that freedom.
You overthink everything and constantly feel judgement from others. You feel trapped in a life that you didn’t plan because you have sacrificed so much for others.
No one knows the REAL you, and you barely recognize yourself.
Your life story is beautifully imperfect.
We all have “the good, the bad, and the ugly” parts of our history, and my passion is in guiding you towards being the person that you always wanted to be.
As a mental health therapist, I want to help you discover your authentic self so that you can feel free to live your dreams!
Sometimes we just need someone to trust with our story.
That is why I am here. It is what I do. My goal as a mental health counselor is to be empathetic, genuine, and trustworthy so that you feel supported and accepted.
It helps for us to say our words out loud and accept our truth with someone who will guide us to the key that unlocks a fresh and positive life perspective. We will do this together.
I am dedicated to helping you learn to embrace your WHOLE life story during the course of your mental health counseling so that you write the ending that you desire!
This is NOT your ordinary mental health counseling.
I’m not the kind of mental health counselor that utters a few “uh-huhs” while you talk for an hour. I have a straightforward approach that is philosophically cognitive-behavioral (CBT); however, I use a creative blend with more connection and eclectic techniques to help you learn about YOU. I like to challenge you to take on new perspectives and give you useful tools to use along your life’s journey.
Areas of focus
For the last 15 years, my career has been devoted to helping others.
If I am honest, I have been this way all of my life. Helping is just part of my makeup as a human.
I have learned others’ stories from all walks of life – from city dwellers to country folks and the free and privileged as well as the incarcerated and poor.
Who I am out of the office
I love to travel, take hiking adventures, and practice photography.
I have an addiction (hopefully healthy) to listening to podcasts and learning new things!
I am married to my very best friend and soulmate of more than twenty years, and we have three grown children, two grandchildren, and one spoiled rotten fur baby!
