Areas of focus

I started off in the mental health field five years ago as a case manager, instantly finding a passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families. I received my masters in clinical mental health counseling from LeTourneau University in 2022 and continued as an LPC-Associate working with a diverse range of mental health problems and populations.

Navigating childhood trauma and mental health can be tough. While children are learning their ABC’s and how to find the square root of pi, they are also finding themselves navigating the things life throws at them. Whether it be bullying, stress, gender/sexual identity, or the death of a loved one, life doesn’t stop dealing its cards. I’m here to lend a helping hand to the younger generation of our community to process and cope with the hardships they may face.

I approach therapy with an empathetic and warm mindset. I use an integration of cognitive-behavioral therapy and a person-centered approach to best adjust to the individual needs of my clients. With children and adolescents, I add techniques of play therapy that are desired to help increase the ability to communicate tougher emotions and learn social-emotional skills.

My goal is to not only help the individual child or teen with their struggles, but also to be there for the parent to better understand how they can support their child in times of trouble and be an open door for them to seek support.

Who I am out of the office

When I’m not working, I’m often found with my nose in a book or playing cozy video games. I also love to write stories and often do so as my favorite form of self-care. My favorite place to be is the beach soaking up the sun’s rays, even if it likes to burn me every time. I try to travel as much as possible with the goal to visit every state in the country. The times when I’m not on the road, I binge watch various TV shows with my fur baby.
