Sometimes life can be hard. Things might not be going as you had planned. We all have expectations of what our life should be, and it doesn’t always happen that way.

You can face your fears.

Dealing with painful emotions can be hard. Breaking unhealthily habits can seem impossible. Your relationship difficulties may be causing you intense stress, and it may seem easier to just give up. Maybe a loss or other transition in your life has completely altered your path, and you are suddenly left wondering how you will move forward. You don’t have to go through these struggles alone. I can help you make positive changes in your life by helping you confront your feelings, teach you healthy ways to cope, and improve your relationships with others.

I believe that you are capable.

I can assist you in finding your own answers. I believe that mental health therapy is most effective when we work together to identify and build on your natural strengths while also challenging you to reach and maintain your goals for improvement.

My approach

I utilize a solution-focused, cognitive behavioral approach as well as other evidence-based approaches to treatment. My personal style is compassionate, thoughtful, and encouraging but also clear, accountable, and direct. I will accept you where you are, no matter what you are going through. I want you to feel safe and confident to share your story. We will work together to find practical solutions to your current challenges. I will be cheering you on as you make positive changes in your life.

Areas of focus

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a licensure in Texas and North Carolina. I received my Masters of Social Work from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and my Bachelors in Psychology from North Carolina State University. I have 14 years of experience working in mental health and 10 years as a psychotherapist in inpatient and outpatient settings including an acute behavioral health hospital and community mental health center. I have also supervised clinical social workers and served as director of a partial hospital treatment program. I am also working as Special Services Counselor for Lumberton ISD providing counseling for kids who experience anxiety, depression, or other emotional challenges that affect their ability to learn and function in the classroom.

Who I am out of the office

I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering, enjoying the outdoors, gardening, and traveling. I also play piano, love to travel, read historical fiction, and watch documentaries. I love meeting new people, taking on new projects, and trying new things. I am always up for a new adventure!
