I am so excited to be a part of the NewPath Counseling Group and the opportunities that come with being part of this team. My goal will be to help you resolve and work through issues in your current season of life by getting rid of unhealthy thoughts, behaviors, and unhealthy coping strategies. We will work together to add positive life changes and “pack” healthy coping skills. My integrated counseling approach consists of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy techniques.

Some of my favorite sayings are “It’s Never Too Late” and “Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life” Both of which speak to me on a personal level.  It is my desire to help people learn the truth behind them on a personal level as well.

My experiences in counseling children and families began in 1990, when I started my teaching career. I found myself working with young children, many who were carrying emotional “baggage” . After 10 years of teaching, I became a school counselor, serving elementary and middle school students for 14 years. During this time, I received my credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition, I hold credentials as a minister with the General Council of the Assemblies of God. I currently serve as the women’s ministry leader and an Adult Sunday School teacher/substitute at my local church.

My clinical specialties are childhood, tween, adolescent, and women’s issues. These include anger, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, self-esteem, and stress.

When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, fishing, camping, and gardening with my husband of 37 years. We have two adult children, three grandchildren, and two spoiled dogs
