Psychology Today:

Are you experiencing a sense of being overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, irritable/short tempered/angry, poor self esteem, lacking confidence, problems sleeping or concentrating? Have you had an event in your life that was painful and thought you could never recover from it?  I offer you a safe place to develop the inner resources you need to work through your problems and achieve your goals.  Often life presents challenges that seem overwhelming and without hope.  You don’t have to feel that way.  I have the experience and the skills to guide you and see you through those difficult times while helping you to emerge with new coping and life management skills.

I have worked with clients of all ages, stages and development experiencing any number of profound challenges that most persons encounter in their lifetime.  I know I am one of those persons, and as such feel I am often able to relate to my clients’ life experiences either directly or through over 17 years of working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This experience has allowed me the privilege of working with hundreds of clients struggling to learn a New Path by successfully navigating through their own trials and tribulations. As a divorced mother of a 23 year old daughter and 16 year old son for the last 13 years, I have learned through surviving heartache and day to day struggles to find joy, fulfillment, meaning and purpose in my life.

I obtained my Master’s Degree I Social Work (MSW) in 1988. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist(CCH) – Advanced.  I am licensed through the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners and certified through the International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Due to my extensive experience of 27+ years in the field of social services and behavioral health,  I have been able to work in both the development and administration and Behavioral Health Programs in both the private and the not-for profit sector.  Additionally, I have worked as a therapist in the state prison system helping offenders gain insight into the roots of their behaviors, helping them learn how to change these behaviors and helping them to ultimately accept responsibility for their lives and their actions while assisting with the true rehabiliation of these lost and often forgotten souls.

I utilize a very eclectic approach in working with individuals as I tailor each intervention to meet each client’s unique needs. This eclectic approach includes: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Adjustment and Grief Counseling, Mindfulness, help for trauma using the highly effective EMDR Protocol (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and more. Pages detailing some of these treatment approaches are provided on a separate page for a more comprehensive explanation of these therapies.
