The Dr. Seuss quote pretty much sums up my approach to therapy with clients. My goal is to help each client achieve a more functional level of mental well-being in order to gain some insight and ultimately peace in their mental health.

My approach is person centered therapy with solution focused and cognitive behavioral techniques. I want to make the therapy experience as straightforward and enjoyable as possible while implanting the skills necessary to address the different concerns children, adolescents, and adults face daily. My goal is to help clients build the skills needed to improve their mental health and overall well-being.

The work we do together is to help you to learn to face issues with tools that will allow you to accomplish your goals.

I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA. I completed my professional internship primarily working with children/ adolescents and their families as well as adults with varying degrees of mental illness and issues with their mental and behavioral health. I have experience working with a range of ages and families helping them to address the needs and struggles of both the clients and their support.

Kids and adolescents are at important ages of transition in their development which can sometimes be difficult to navigate through especially on their own. I work with them and their families to help guide them to learning more appropriate ways to address the concerns they are experiencing. I also work on targeting problems revolving around inappropriate behaviors being exhibited by working with the client, child or adult, to target any undesirable behaviors and guide them to learning how to better manage the behaviors in their daily lives.

Just a bit of personal back story, I am originally from New Orleans, LA. I have lived all over the state of Louisiana before moving to Texas and making my home. My journey through life has had many turns and changes so I understand how it can sometimes take an outside perspective to help find the answers we need. It is because of these twists that I have found myself working to help others on their path the best I can. I am always excited by a challenge and try to experience something new as often as I can. My goal is to never stop exploring all that our world has to offer.
